Mulberry fruit is also called shahtoot in Hindi. These are sweet-tasting black brown white blue and red-colored fruits.
The mulberry tree is Morus alba. Its fruits are called Mulberries. But the black Mulberry tree is Morus nigra. Both plants belong to the same family morus, only the color of their fruit is different.
The leaves of mulberry trees are the only food for silkworms, so they are mostly grown in Asia and North America.
Mulberry is often used to make wine, juice, jam, tea, or canned foods, but It can be eaten raw and fresh as a snack as it tastes like grapes. Along with this, the ratio of bad (LDL) and good (HDL) cholesterol also improves, due to which the risk of heart disease is reduced. The presence of potassium keeps the blood pressure low and keeps the heart-healthy. Polyphenol present in shahtoot (mulberry) keeps the blood vessels healthy.
